ClassMate Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ClassMate mobile application ("the App") operated by Tony Aboud ("we," "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

ClassMate is a school-companion app that lets students, teachers, parents, secretaries, and administrators within the same school manage schedules, grades, attendance, assignments, messages, and announcements, with an integrated AI tutor (NOVA) for study help.

2. Accounts

Most ClassMate accounts are created by a school administrator on behalf of the user. You agree to keep your login credentials confidential, not share your account with anyone else, and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates these Terms.
Attempt to access another user's account or data outside your role's permissions.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
Use the NOVA AI tutor to generate content that violates Anthropic's Acceptable Use Policy, including content that is illegal, harmful, sexually explicit involving minors, or promotes self-harm.
Spam other users, attempt to brute-force login or password-reset flows, or otherwise interfere with the operation of the App.
Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to harm the App or other users.

Violations may result in account suspension or termination at our discretion. Schools may also impose their own usage rules on top of these Terms.

4. Paid features and subscriptions

NOVA AI tutor and Practice sessions are gated by a monthly token quota. Free accounts include a baseline number of tokens per month. Additional tokens are available through:

Subscription plans — Budget, Balance, or Commitment, billed monthly through Apple's App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
One-time top-up packs — non-refundable consumable purchases that add tokens to your account. Top-up tokens never expire.

All payments are processed by Apple. Refunds for subscription mistakes are at Apple's discretion. We do not store payment card information.

5. The NOVA AI tutor

NOVA is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Responses are generated by AI and may contain inaccuracies. NOVA is intended as a study aid, not a substitute for a qualified teacher, doctor, lawyer, or other professional. You are responsible for verifying important information before relying on it.

6. Content ownership

Content you create in the App (messages, announcements, assignment submissions, attachments) remains yours. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to store and display that content to the recipients you target within your school. Trademarks, logos, and the App's source code remain the property of the Service Provider.

7. Service availability and changes

We strive to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or US$50, whichever is greater.

9. Privacy

Our handling of your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Israel.
